Strange Smell

Hey all,
I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L. When i turn on the rear defroster, it work and all that. But after about 2 minutes on the car starts the smell from the rear defroster being on. It only started to do this since this past winter. It only occurs when the rear defroster is on. Any help would be great.

Thanks in Advanced

Paul

Re: Strange Smell

No my windows are not tinted. Atfirst i thought it might had been something with the compressor since the compressor turns on when you use the defroster but when i use the AC there it no smell

now im confused, is it your rear defroster or your front defroster that triggers the smell?

Re: Strange Smell

ok, what confused me was you said your a/c compressor kicks on with your defroster, it ONLY does that with your FRONT defroster, so the A/C is definetely not the issue (as im sure you already know)

Yea the rear defogger is just electricity sent into some heat retainer lines across ur window to warm it up, check if the connection is bad it cud be that. If not, are u sure its not you? lol jk
