Speeding up an H van....

Has anyone ever heard of or, even better, attempted an engine transplant in a Citroen H Van. As a potential project im thinking of trying to put a more economical and capable engine in one. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Im looking at the diesel side of things.

Cheers
