1997 Blazer 4x4 Wipers acting up!

My 97 Blazer wipers seems to have all the problems I see listed above, and they also don't return to "HOME" position, almost always. They usually work in HIGH, but today that didn't work, either for a minute or two, then started working, and it is very cold in Ohio. It's still a pain to always have them stop in the middle of the windshield.Half of the time they don't work on LOW..If this a control board, where is it on a 97? Thanks for any suggestions....

It's likely the circuit board in the wiper motor. There is a recall on this for certain years. Call your local dealership service dept and give them your vin # to see if its on the list. If so it will be a free fix. Otherwise pull the cover off your wiper motor, pull the circuit board then resolder all the trace points and you should be fine.

Time for a new pulse board.

The "special notice" recall from GM ended in Feb of 2004 for '97s.
