Hello There:
I have a 1998 XLE that is having the infamous caliper failure on both fronts. I found a factory set off a 2000 V6 XLE and was wondering if they would work on my car. Both have the same set up (ABS, etc.) but I don't know if the calipers from the 2000 are different. Any help on fitment would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Ted, Chicago |

Re: 2000 V6 Camry Calipers Fit A 1998 V6?
I don't know the answer off the top of my head but there is something I can suggest that I do in situations like this. Go to any online parts provider and look up both part numbers for the calipers for the 98 V6 and the 2000 V6. If both part numbers are the same, the calipers should be the same.

If this is a common issue on the car, you may want to contact Toyota and see if there is a Technical Service Bulletin or a recall. Get all info before u shell your own money.

Another way to check interchangability is to talk with someone at your local wrecking yard (who you have built a relationship with over the years), they have books available that reference what may be interchangable from year to year and model to model.
