Re: Well, I've picked out a car.

i think that price is nuts for the milage! is there any catch? damn good lookin tho, seems to be in pretty good condition. interior looks a little worn but not more than you would expect for a 91.

Re: Well, I've picked out a car.

I thought it looked in quite good condition, drivers seat has a few minor tears, and he said the bumpers have some good touchup paint on them, but it still looks pretty good. Nice find. So are you definantly getting this one?

Polygon, nice find! that's a good price for the year a mileage. but bone stock...boo.

if you want to spend a little extra, here's a guy in TX that's selling his 92 RT TT, just as cherry , but with some extras http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=334442

Re: Well, I've picked out a car.

Yeah, I've talked to this guy extensively and as soon as I get the check this will be the one. Yeah, it’s stock minus a BOV and a K&N filter but that is what I want. When I finish the GTC I will make this my project and modify it the way I want it done. What's nice is the car has a new transfer case under the recall. It hasn't just been rebuilt, he insisted on a new one at the time. Also the A/C has been replaced with the new type refrigerant. Also, the ECU has been taken care of already so I don't have to worry about leaky CAPs. All that needs to be done when I get it home will be an oil change, new plugs/wires, new timing belt, new drive belt, and perhaps the rest of the 60k service. Also, can't forget about the free boost mod. As for the interior, it is no worse than others I’ve looked at and I’ve also seen much worse. The things wrong can be easily fixed by an upholstery shop.

As for the price, he just needs it gone since he has two and has bought a third. His parents won’t let him bring the third home until he gets rid of one of the other two. I don't think there is a catch. The Carfax is clean and he has been driving it daily with no problems so I feel very assured about buying the car. Plus it is still five hundred over the loan value anyhow.

Re: Well, I've picked out a car.

Very nice, glad you remembered hte freeboost mod. definantly do the waterpump if you are doing the t-belt. You've already read the FAQ, so you know it all already. Good luck with the buy, you wont regret it.

And Mr. Wiggl3s, I drove 2 400 mile round trips to get mine. Once to check it out and put down a initial payment, and again the next week to bring the rest of the money and take hte car. It's worth it!

i prefer buying a stock car, car's that are upgraded usually have alot more wear and tear than cars that are stock.

nice find, just while your looking forward to that one, keep looking, there could always be somthing better out there

Re: Well, I've picked out a car.

wear and tear? so what, the 6g72 is quite stout. but as long as its maintained well, then you should be golden. granted, i agree with you in that modified cars are usually driven harder than stock cars, but if you can find one modded to your liking, then you'll basically get all those mods for a huge discount along with the car.

but to each his own. personally, i'd like to slap on the mods myself; it takes the fun out of monkey-wrenching when its already done or someone else does it for ya.

And those are the two reasons I wanted a stock car.
