I have a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan SE. The temp display on the upper console is always at 0. I have read about an ambient air sensor, but I don't know where it is. Can anyone help?

Re: Overhead Console temp display not working
On my 96GC it's behind the front bumper near the middle. It's cylindrical, about 1.5 inches long and has one or two wires leading to it. As I rcall a new one costs about $30.

Re: Overhead Console temp display not working
I was told the 0 C in the temperature display of the overhead console means open circuit. Were you able to fix yours. If so what was wrong. I was told the ambient air sensor rarely goes bad so it must be the wiring between the console on the ambient air sensor.

Re: Overhead Console temp display not working
Yes, apparently I hit a parking lot cement bumper and broke the bracket and severed one of two wires. I just soldered the wire together and used a wire pull tie to secure the transmitter to the plastic grill of the bumper cover. That was 7-8 years ago and it's been working fine since. Cheers.
