Need help finding switched ACC.
I have a '04, V6, auto, Accord sedan. I am trying to find the best/easiest switched (ON with ignition) connection point to install a K40 laser detector. The detector has a 3 amp fuse.
I was thinking of splicing into to the power outlet circuit near the storage bin, but I don't know how to remove the power outlet. Does anyone know how? Thanks |

Re: Need help finding switched ACC.
Probe the drivers or passenger's side underdash fuse box. The drivers side under-dash fuse boxes on Hondas usually have a few open slots on the dash side (not the side facing out) that are reserved for options that many times go unused. You already have an in-line fuse on your detector, so you'd just need to crimp on a female spade connector.......good luck, Glen

Re: Need help finding switched ACC.
Glen, I found the fuse box, but I don't see any male posts that I can use to connect the female connector. Am I missing something or do I have to put a male spade into the fuse slot?
Thanks |

Re: Need help finding switched ACC.
First, I'm not 100% sure that the your year will have empty slots, but I'm betting it does. I'm also not sure that one is switched power, but if you're like me, I hate to splice into wires, and prefer to wire it directly to avoid problems. Worth a look, at least.
Are you looking at the backside (not the side where the fuses are)? My 1998 has open single blades sitting there, but the 2003 may be different.... So, if not there for '03, I'm sorry to get your hopes up. But, it may still be worth a look....good luck! Glen |
