The acceleration of the XJ220

Hello.

I'm curious: what is the high-speed (e.g., 150+ mph) acceleration of the XJ220?

I've read in Autocar that the XJ220 takes 11.1 seconds to get from 150 mph to 170 mph. Since the 0-150 mph time is 17.4 sec., that makes the 0-170 mph time 28.5 s.

What I don't know is whether that 11.1 sec. time is taken purely in 5th (top) gear, since I feel that the XJ220 could take less than that to cover 150-170 mph. I'm taking this 11.1 s time with a grain of salt.

So, I'm looking for the XJ220's 0-170 mph time.

Your thoughts?

Re: The acceleration of the XJ220

I dont know the exact time it takes to get to 170 but I can tell you its much faster than a Pagani Zonda during mid to high speed acceleration. It may only have a V6, but when those turbos kick in it picks up unbelievably fast. The XJ220 was known for its mid to high speed acceleration, and its safe to say that its still one of the fastest in mid to high speed acceleration today. Top Gear did a test to see if today's supercars matchup to slightly older supercars. And guess which ones came out on top...here's a link to the video
