93 Camry 4cyl Engine Replacment
I was 'gifted' a 93 Camry 4cly with 190,000 miles on it...the engine was just blown, hole in the side of the block. Body looks very good.
Looking at replacing it with a rebuilt engine, best local price is $1800 with a very good warranty of 2 yrs. However, that does not include the pulling and replacment. Another Fellow wants $700 to pull and replace it, says it must be done from the bottom, in other words, a special stand to drop the engine. Is this the only way to get the engine out? Any thoughts on this whole process? Thanks, tom |

Welcome to the AF!
Engine comes out the top. Download and read the Toyota service manual in the sticky post at the top of this forum (relevant link below). http://www.turboninjas.com/camry/eg1.pdf

I am a newbie for sure! Can you tell me how an estimate of howlong it should take to R&R this engine? Buck |

Sorry, I don't have any idea. I guess you could remove it in a day if you were really good. However, it doesn't take much to prolong this process.
Hint: Take many pictures as you go and label everything that makes any kind of connection.
