pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

The 350Z, the 67 Mustang, and 70 Monte Carlo

This is a modified reissue of AMT's awsome 67 Mustang kit, hopefully it will include the stock wheels.

another reissue, but the big wheels are not correct for this movie car, they should be steel wheels

and now, the interesting one.

I'm praying the 350Z includes stock body parts and LHD. since this ones going to be full detail. if all else fails maybe it will be a large 1:25 scale so the motor could be transferred to the Tamiya kit. but I doubt it .notice the Vielside Version 3 body kit.

They also announced an EVO 8, but they have no test shot of it yet.

Hmm, interesting models there, especially the 350Z.
I can't wait to see the movie!

I was told by a friend (an anti-Japanese car kinda guy who is a Ford/Mustang fanatic so I'm not automatically assuming he's right without evidence, which I hope he provides if he sees this 'cause he knows who I'm talking about when he reads this ) that the Mustang w/the RB26 was a show car and the Mustang used in all the various action scenes had a big honkin' V8 because the RB26 car wasn't fast enough to boil the tires for long drifts. I actually like the idea of an RB26 in a Mustang; not as a V8/GT replacement but in memory of the hundreds of thousands made originally with Ford's boat anchor economy inline 6. Old school guys tend to conveniently forget this when they rail against a Mustang w/the RB26. It's amusing

The AMT pictures induce nausea. I hope they are like their typical boxart stuff, meaning fictitious as to the contents inside as those rims on the Mustang and Monte are vile and the 350Z looks like a clown car with their execution of that already taste-challenged body kit

Yep, me, too I think after part 1 & 2 they did the perfect movie, I love drifting. For me it will be perfect.

Any body know when the kits will be released? I have to get the 350Z!

I'd reckon they only made one RB26 powered Mustang because of the expense involved in making them. Sourcing that motor and then months of construction. Since a movie would need a handful of cars for filming, since they would break and crash and whatnot, it would be cheaper to just toss a little V8 into the copy cars, and you wouldn't be able to tell from outside, anyway. In my most recent issue of Sport Compact Car, they tested the cars from the movie (tee-hee) and they found the RB26 to be faster than the V8 copies, if only on the quarter mile. They also had to equip the copies that were used for drifting had a second e-brake caliper on the rear brakes to help turn the cars around. Doesn't sound like a glowing endorsement for the V8s, does it?

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

While were on the discussion of the Mustang. The show mustang has an RB26DET. They couldnt fit two turbos because of the driver side strut tower. The motor that powers the car in the stunts is anything but a measly V8. Its a Windsor 430ci. Its rather funny that they use the RB in a few scenes that sounds completely different. I wonder if we will be able to tell the different exhaust nodes in the movie.

Im not the Ford guy Bob was talking about either...I hate Fords.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

Looks like the Mustang and MC have the same stupid motorcycle-width tires AMT has been putting on a bunch of their old kit reissues lately (Boyd's, Resto Rods, etc). That 350Z looks cartoonish...

Thanks for the pics. I mean..wow..those are horrible:X Hopefully....the engines will be at least 80% correct, as compared to their previous..trail and error..fails, rather, from the first 2 films.

Wow did they mess up the front of the EVO. I was actually excited about it BEFORE I saw that pic.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

I just got back from ToysR'Us. They had the diecasts of these. 1:20 and 1:18. From the pics there, they look very much like the diecasts RC Ertl is offering.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

judging by the softness of the Evo that may be the diecast, I'm hoping the kit version is nicer. and not a ricer that picture shows
