Clearcoat trouble

What the beastway to use clearcoat. I need help because i cant lay down a smoothe layer. When i spray it on somthing and it dries it looks dry not a gloss shine. When i put a second coat on it shines but its not smooth. It kind of leaves little looking dents. Thats what it looks life kindof. Its not band looking but from what ive seen on here. The paint jobs look so and shiny. I am painting it on a pearlcolor. Do i just need to put a few cotes on.The brand i am using is color rite. The clearcoat i am using is OEM approved. Can you guys help me make it look really smooth your guys cars.

Re: Clearcoat trouble

You're getting orange peel. No matter what you do you will get that. As I said, you need to polish it out.

Re: Clearcoat trouble

No...basecoat doesnt have much to do with the shine unless its a really rough coat.
