95 Accord, brake dust on one wheel
Well, my 1995 Accord EX auto 4-cylinder (115,000 miles) has one rear wheel that has a TON of brake dust on it. Do I just need to change the pads, or is there a bigger problem here? Thanks so much!

From what I've noticed on similar situations, the one with the dust is siezed and constantly wearing the pad (probably the outboard) on that side.
When you look at them, one will probably be much thinner than the rest. If the outboard is worn excessively, the caliper slides are locked, and the inboard is applying when you step on the brake, but the outboard is dragging constantly. The remedy is to unlock the slides, and if the hardware isn't rusty or pitted, coat with a silicone based high-temp lube before reassembly. Also make sure any dust/water boots for the slides are intact. If the inboard is worn more, the caliper itself is seizing. Replacement is needed. Also check that the e-brake system isn't hanging up on one side. This all assumes you have 4 wheel disc brakes. If you have drums, you shouldn't be seeing brake dust.

I got the pads all changed, the one with the dust was harder to turn back in, but she came. So far so good!
