Tranny problems!

hey guys, i just noticed that my tranny was slipping when i put it in reverse it tries to catch and it will slowly move back but you can feel the tranny slipping the gear. in 1th gear you have to start out really slow so it can catch 2th gear. if i smash on the gas in 1th gear it will go but will redline the shit out of 1st and won't catch 2th... but if i let off it then it will catch 2th... i just drop the tranny pan and the fluid didn't look clean at all... and i heard there's a filter some where to...any ideas it help?
thanks

Re: Tranny problems!

if its a camaro.. the filter would be obvious when you dropped the pan. it a big black square thing in the front.

as far as the problem goes... it could be a myriad of things that cause your problem. it's really not worth speculating because there's no telling. get a tranny shop to look at it (some will tow it for you). mostly likely the will tell you rebuild or buy new transmission. its possilble could be stuck valve, that would be simpler to fix.
