2001 Jimmy - Code 0440
hi.
when i try to fill my car it only fills about a litre at a time then the gas starts overflowing. (take me about 15mins to fill my car) i've been living with this problem for about 2 weeks. Took it to the garage and they said that it was a code 0440(he didnt seem to really know where to start to fix it) i think something is just stuck in the tubs that go to the tank. Can it be anything else? oh ya, the engine light is on...on the dash.

P0440 is "EVAP emission control system malfunction". I would suspect the slow fill has something to do with it. Check the filler tube and vent hose for kinks or obstructions first. If they're ok, to correctly diagnose it, you'll need to follow a diagnostic flow chart.
