A/C Wiring Harness
I have had some problems with my AC and upon taking the glove compartment box out I noticed that one of the wires looks burned. I think this happened from a prior ac problem that my old mechanic chose not to tell me about. When pushing on the wires(they all appear to be firmly connected) the ac starts up. As I have not used a voltmeter I am not 100 sure that the scorched wire is the culprit. But I figure might as well fix it right. I went to the store looking for an AC wiring harness and have not had any luck in finding one. Any suggestions on where to go would be greatly appreciated.
(Chevy 91 C 1500) Thanks in advance! |

Re: A/C Wiring Harness
Since you are looking inside the glove box, I assume you are referring to the A/C Relay wiring. The relay could have gone bad and heated up the wires.
AC Delco does sell a relay harness, part number PT730. You should be able to get this at any AC Delco Parts store or www.rockauto.com //2000CAYukon |

Re: A/C Wiring Harness
Thanks! But it gets worse.
Initial discovery of burned wire ![]() So I started by removing the connectors looks normal right? ![]() After removing electrical tape I discover that the garage had soldered the wires from the connectors together. I have not figured out why yet but I am figuring that is part of the burning wires: ![]() I wonder what else I will find. What is the easiest way for me to fix this(besides having someone else do it )?Oh and I gather that one of the connectors is for the blower(the one you suggested purchasing). But what are the other two? |

Re: A/C Wiring Harness
The harness part number I posted above is for the relays (there are 3 of them all together in your 2nd photo).
I don't see that connector (the one that is burned) on the acdelco website so it may not be available. You could try to get one from a junkyard or find a good electrical shop to fix it. //2000CAYukon |
