favorate tools
what are your favorate tools?
mine: 1. digital multimeter(i have a few, but my bluepoint is the best) 2. snap-on swivel extentions(great in tight spots) 3. my oil filter socket(no clue what brand it is, but it really chews into the filter for a good grip)

Re: favorate tools
My 100+ piece Craftsman tool set including sockets, bits, screwdrivers, etc. Not a day goes by when I find myself using a tool from this set for any project around the house or garage. I like how everything is neatly organized into a black plastic carrying case, which makes portability an added benefit.

Re: favorate tools
Actually my favorite tool is one I never get to use...it's my grandpa's pipe wrench from way back in the day. The sucker is HUGE but doesn't weigh nearly as much as you would think. He actually had a heart attack and died while using it, so it means a lot to me.

MY 3 lb sledgehammer and my 20 inch channel locks. Thor's both of them. I sometimes use the channel locks as a hammer when i forget the hammer.

Re: favorate tools
My favorite tool was one that I didn't own. It was a 5' long wrench on my college's training ship. It's for big-ass bolts, and was damn heavy!

Lisle 58430 "shaft in seal puller" is my favorite new tool!! it removes camshaft and crankshaft seals without damaging the shaft!!! Being a professional mechanic I have been waiting for this tool for a long time.

Re: favorate tools
I have the snap on digital torque wrench, reads newton-meters, foot-pounds and inch-pounds and beeps and vibrates when yo uhit your torque, on top of that, it's all push-button! I look for excuses to use it anymore, haven't had a tranny service comeback yet!

Re: favorate tools
favorite tool. i modified a crescent wrench so that it would open wider. i didn't wanna have to buy a longer wrench to get a wider grip. i removed the spiral gear, then remove the top part of the grip that moves. this top part has grooves in it. i just cut 2 more grooves in it, re-assembled. now it opens an extra inch! i love it b/c its rather small, compact, yet can tackle those large nuts/bolts.
