Re: 98 - 2001 Explorer - review

I have a 98 sport 50,000 miles.

1) Rear wiper doesn't sit well on the rear glass. Sometimes bending it will help.
2) Center console armrest made of cheap material. Fix is E-bay seller will recover with better material for under $75.00.
3) auto 5 speed trans is trouble prone, as I've read in the forums.
4) The big issue is the Heater blend door. It will break eventually and is a lot of fun read this-

Re: 98 - 2001 Explorer - review

I have a '98 Explorer XLT.

1. Rear wiper stopped working years ago.
2. Center console cover fabric cracked.
3. Radio display went out (see related thread here).
4. Windshield washer motor went out. Haven't tracked that one down yet.
5. Poor shifting from second down to first.
I'll never buy another ford again.
