i down an unpaved road and hit a pothole... i my door ajar light is on and the interior lights wont go off. the alarm will not set correctly beacause it thinks a door is open and the interior lights stay on. i nned to pull the fuse everytime i leave the car. the strange thing is, is that when i put it into to drive and step on the gas, the interior light turns off. but the door ajar light stays on.
a day b4 the pothole i put some oil on the back window lock so it would open easier... ...did i cause a short? ....or did i throw something off with the bump? any help[ would be greatly appriciated -chris |

Re: door ajar lights on ...please help!
Oil wont cause a short. you might check your switch for your rear hatch. Thats where i would start. also, go around and manually push in all the buttens for the doors to see if it turns off the light.

Re: door ajar lights on ...please help!
I believe the oil will cause a short. There's a sensor behind the lock switch for the security system. If you short this switch, it would show your symptoms. The reason the linterior lights go out while the door ajar light is on, is so you can still drive at night without being blinded..
