91 cherokee a/c question
I have a 4.0 4x4 91 cherokee. The a/c works ok but not nearly as cool as my 2002 tahoe. The compressor seems to kick in several times a minute. Could it be that I am just low on freon, or something worse? Thanks

Re: 91 cherokee a/c question
It could be low on refridgerant, or it could be the fact that the system is 15 years old. The only way to restore it to like-new condition is to replace the compressor, accumulator/reciever-drier, and orifice tube(If applicable)..

Re: 91 cherokee a/c question
IMO, no need to replace everything. I've had several older vehicles where the compressor cycled rapidly as you describe. They were just low on refrigerant and once recharged, worked great. Sounds like it's time for the R34 conversion....they have a kit to do it at most decent auto parts stores.
