The rear barn doors on my '99 Suburban have become very stiff to open. I have tried lubricating the hinges with white lithium grease, but the problem still persists. Is there a special way to lubricate these hinges?

Re: Stiff Barn Door Hinges
White lithium grease has no penetrating qualities. Get a good penetrant and keep working the doors back and forth. Once they loosen up get a heavier penetrating lube like Tri-flow or equivalent. Then lube them periodically.

Re: Stiff Barn Door Hinges
Get them freed up as "Boom" stated, then use SAE20/ISO64 mineral oil periodically to lubricate them. Spray "lubricants" are not the recommended product for hinges and latches. Read your factory service manual.

Re: Stiff Barn Door Hinges
I don't remember the exact set up on the hinges, but if you can remove the doors and grease the hinges that will work great.
