Turbo EX D16Y8 Questions

ive got a 2000 civic EX with around 115000 miles bone stock.....im almost finished putting together a turbo kit with a t3/t4 garrett turbo - greddy blow-off and wastegate - sidemount intercooler - all piping....but mi question is what else should i get besides forged pistons and rods so i dont blow mi engine????

A really good engine management system. Possibly sleeves as well, but that depends on your hp goals.

dependinig how much your pushing. for best fit. port/polish, new racing valve spring, retainer, camshaft, cam gear, light flywheel, 2.5 piping.

im lookin for about 300 horses.....im not lookin to dominate but enough.....so u dont think i should need any forged rods or pistons???

300HP? All you would need is some Wiseco pistons, Eagle Rods... rebuilt head (or build it if you want, not completely necessary but very good) and a turbo around the size of a T3/TD04E. Possible on around 18psi-20psi on a good tune with an engine management of your choice.

it might just be but i would bet your gonna blow our engine if your seriously trying to get 300hp out of an ex engine.

I know of a few people that have hit 400+whp on a SOHC D16 motor. It's quite possible. And actually, there is a guy that hit 273whp on a stock internal'd D16Z6. A really, really good tune is a must so I would just skip the SAFC/VAFC and go right to a chipped ECU with either Uberdata/Crome or a Hondata setup for fuel management.
