Re: 2004 Supercharger

It would be way too much money and work to put a supercharger on a non-supercharged car. you better off just swapping in a L67 motor (the 3.8 supercharged motor taht is in the SS)

head over to l67swap.com and you will find tons of info on the process and everything you would need to pull it off.

Most of the time you can fuind used L67 motors on ebay for a couple hundred bucks, or find them locally to you at a junkyard.

Otehrwise, to do it safely and properly, your looking at a couple thousand dollars to just add a supercharger, or less than $2000 to just swap in a used L67 motor.

It's your call tho.

Re: 2004 Supercharger

I agree with BigRod. The conversion is possible but a lot of work and big bucks. It is easier said then done.

I mentioned before in another post that if you are serious about installing a Eaton M90 supercharger then ZZP recently came out with a L36 SS M90 Install Kit. It will still cost around $1500 for parts and the kit not counting labor.

The often overlooked parts are the cylinder heads off a L67, the bigger 33# fuel injectors and fuel injector rails. You will need them. Plus the drive belt and tensioner system has to be taken into account for the supercharger. The SS M90 kit works around these obstacles.

Even with a successful conversion the tranny wiil be your weak link. The basic 4T65E differential and axle shafts probably won't last with the additional horsepower and torque. The Impala SS has a heavy duty version of the 4T65E-HD which has a beefier differential and heavy duty passenger side axle half shaft.
