2000 Grand Am Gas/Exhaust Smell with heater on
I have a 2000 Grand Am 4cyl. Auto. Just this morning on the way to work, every time I was stopped I got a very strong gas/exhaust smell coming from the vents.
I have no check engine lights, engine temp was fine. Anyone have any ideas? |

Re: 2000 Grand Am Gas/Exhaust Smell with heater on
the vents suck air in from just under the back of the hood. Could hav been the wind blowing exhaust fumes up to the air intake.
Or was it more of a gas small? If it was , you might hav a fuel leak. ![]() Probly wanna get that fixed asap, fires suck !

Maybe you have some oil spilled, then when your engine heats up it starts to burn the oil off of itself. Unless it is definitely a smell of gas.
