Coasting downhill
I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2wd and it does not coast downhill very well like my old 1999 JGC Laredo 4wd which goes faster downhill. It keeps slowing down going down hill. Tire pressure is fine. Is it normal or what? Thanks

ok i had this problem in my 1994 grand ltd. It was doing this because the trans would down shift after i let go of the gas to cost, and it caused the jeep to slow down. How many miles are on the jeep the speed sensor could be bad.

Re: Coasting downhill
Some of the newer vehicles will downshift, as eraseraj said, if you have the cruise control on....it's a "feature" to keep your speed close to what's set on the cruise.
I rented a car last year that did that, and if you turn off the cruise it will stay in the highest gear.
