This is totally weird

The other night when I came home from work, and my uncle was over. Mum tells me that my cousin Sandy who only a few days ago, went back to Vietnam for a holiday (as she does every year), was staying at a hotel in Saigon, and she bumped into this lady, who was holidaying from the US. It turns out after they talked for a while, that this lady is actually one of our relatives.

My cousin has a different surname, but this lady, is actually the niece of my grandfather (deceased - on my mum's side), and she had a few siblings, and they left first during the war in 1975, and followed the US marines back to the US, and the families have been out of contact for over almost 30 years. They found out because the place that my mum's family used to live, they owned an ice factory, and they were the only family in the area with that surname....

How freaky is that..... More relatives

Hehe....no offence, but the exploits of you and your family should be recorded in chapters and then sold off as a biography!

heheh - I'm with Oz on writing a story about your family Q, it'd make a hell of a read

OT sort of, but my family are fairly certain that we might have Vietnamese offshoots from the late '60s - never been able to nail it down but there's enough to question it.

Of course, my sister is Indian - so the family being a hybrid of nationalities isn't an issue. Hell, there are even Canadians and... shock, horror - Kiwis in the mix
