Smile record mileage 89 cavy?

I own an 89 cavalier which I inherited from my folks in 01' with about 230K on it, I've driven it since then and have been more than pleased with it, It now has 322K miles on it, most of which are from delivering pizzas. I also use it to pull the boat during the summer months and haul my wood trailer during the fall. I've had to do some body work on it, but it still has the original engine and transmission. The car still runs great, and the engine sounds like it's brand new, I'm as amazed as anyone else, but I plan to keep the vehicle for a number of years, when it does go on me I'm buying another late 80s or early 90s cavy.

Ahh i feel soo much better. My 99 has 58,981 miles on her. She's an ex granny grocery getter as Noshun used to reffer to her as.

Re: record mileage 89 cavy?

Obviously 1989 was way before GMs 2.2 piston slap problem, however 89s throw rods as fast as any other year,so this one must never have been revved much at all.I hear of some amazing 2.2 durability stories, and then again many that couldnt make 50,000 miles without major failure.
