hey guys alittle help needed

Hey guys im new to this section of af. Im normally on the dodge neon section, my moms has a gc 1999 the chweck engine light is on and when you do the key dance p 1496 comes up on the digital odometer and then says done. Now i tried to search for a list of error codes but i found nothing.

I am not showing that code (P1496) in my book,
I would take it to AUTOZONE and have them scan it they could tell you what the code means.

5V supply is a wire, certain sensor use 5 volts to operate and some use 8 volts to operate apparently the 5V supply wire might be bad somewhere and grounding out and it is loosing power somewhere....

I believe the P14XX codes have to do with "emission control systems" but I am not 100% sure.

Ya the computer supplies a 5 volt signal to the sending units and then monitors the voltage drop in the circuit caused when the sensor changes resistance.

Check the connections in the wiring harnes for that circuit first. Might not look like corosion but unplugging them and hooking them back up might fix it or you might find the bad connection is obvious.
