98 voyager motor into 2005 neon???

hey everyone.. my dad is gettin rid of his voyager. it has the 2.4L DOHC motor. i was wonderin if that would go into the neon, and if so, how easy would it be... thanks for any help in advance.

I know the 96-2000 Caravan/Voyager's will fit into the 1st gen, don't know about the 2nd gen.

The difficulty level is very high for such project and you will need more parts than what you are going to get from the Voyager. You will need some DOHC parts from a 1st Gen neon (intake manifold for one). There is a big issue with the ECU and it violates Federal emission laws. So, if you need an emission inspection sticker, you will fail the test b/c you are not allowed to put an older engine into a newer car and you are not allowed to transplant a truck emissions engine into a car. If these are not issues for you, do what your wallet will allow.

^^^ I didn't even think about the DOHC vs SOHC stuff. Definitely gonna make it a more difficult swap, but still doable.

yea that sounds like a little to much work for me and probably to expensive.

Too bad your in IL or I'd take the engine and build a 2.4 turbo
