Re: Stroker Kit Driving Me Crazy !!!!

Ok i didnt think that i would be back .. but i am ... MORE PROBLEMS !!!! i got my whole long block put togethor finally and i started putting on waterpump. oil pump, etc. When i got to the crankshaft sprocket, i went to put in the Crank bolt from my 4g63 into the 4g64, and the BOLT WOULD NOT THREAD UP. It wouldnt even start threading into the 4g64 block. I thought that these two bolts where supposed to be the same in the 4g63 crank and 4g64. Do i need to order a different bolt? ANY IDEAS> ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS ? ... PLEASE HELP !

Re: Stroker Kit Driving Me Crazy !!!!

I would just order a new cankbolt they are really cheap. Find a vin (i'm lazy) from a car with a 4g64 and i'll get the mitsu part numbe for you. My brother had to buy a new crank bolt from Mentor mitsu (an online deale i use all the time) and it was like $4.

Re: Stroker Kit Driving Me Crazy !!!!

That would be EXTREMELY HELPFUL if you could find me the part number for the crank bolt. The VIN for a Galant with a 4g64 is 4A3AJ56G7WE068386. AUTOTRADER ROCKS .... Still wondering why I am the only one with this problem? Has anyone else had a 4g63 crank centerbolt not thread into the 4g64 crank ? I hope my crank is not messed up.

Re: Stroker Kit Driving Me Crazy !!!!

Ok so here is the updated solution to my center crank bolt. After calling every crank manufacturer around, I got one answer... when the crank was remanufactured, the acid tank must have ate away some of the begining threading in the crank. WELL.... I go to autozone and buy a 14mm x 1.25 thread TAP tool, and the double level handle bars for the TAP at lowes. Started retapping the crank only about a centimeter into the crank. Air hosed all the debree out of the threading. Put white lithium grease on my center bolt, and started screwing it into the crank. It was tuff at first but soon as it met the original threading in the back, it was smooth as butter. FIXED MY PROBLEM!!!
