re-edit: easy question for most

hey guys, when i bought my jeep i noticed the illumanting glow that lights up the transmission letters does not glow, i do not know if it is because of a fuse, and i dont know where i would look to check to replace it,

What year? If '98 or earlier it's probably the bulb.
If a '99 up, it's not serviceable; there is a LCD that illuminates built in to the shifter console, about 300 bucks from the dealer. If so, try pulling one out of a wrecking yard.
