FC3S - RX-7 Savanna (fujimi j-tune) -complete

I really wanted to make a savanna, and saw this guy in a recycle shop for 700 yen. It has a whole ton of parts in it, and the interior parts are fairly well detailed. I was about to overcome my predjudice for crappy fujimi kits. Then I saw the murder that is the chassis and wanted to cry. There aren't even any wheelwells on the kit, so without modification, it looks totally stupid. The interior, while nicely detailed, has fitment issues... or rather issues dealing with the fact that there are no places on the kit clearly defined as to where you can glue the parts. It was a nightmare getting the interior and the wheels fixed.
Kit wheels were tossed. Too small, and not really cool looking. I used the body kit parts I thought looked cool out of box. I decided on black with silver mags thinking it would look cool, but now I'm thinking I might change the mags to gunmetal. Undecided.
It's definently the best polishing job I've done yet. I think I'm getting the hang of polishing the clearcoat enough to get a great shine and make the decals blend into the car body.

If you're planning on building an old fujimi savanna, don't do it unless you really want to sit around re-building the chassis and interior. The body doesn't look too bad. :/

There are no wheelwells... WHY? Noooooooooooo~

Nice job of a difficult kit. Those kits used to have electric motors and battery boxes. So the interior is all squished up.Fujimis 280ZXT,DR30 Skyline,Mitsubishi Starion and some others all have the same peoblem. Some of them even share the same chassis and interior parts.
