Article from the BBC

About Bush, go figure, but it's a pretty good article. And indeed, things could be much worse.

Re: Article from the BBC

Well gas overseas was always more expensive compared to what we americans pay at the pump. That doesn't justify our rising gas prices though. Could things be worse? Yes. Are things going to get worse? Yes.

The article was a good read non the less.

"We drove 1,000 miles in a minivan and only filled up twice for less than $100. Wise up, America. Things could be so much worse!"

I dont agree with that. Hes talkin about highway mileage! Burns less gas! Why doesn't he say anything about city mpg? High school students, college students, ppl working anywhere between minimum wage to 10 bucks an hour effects them more.

Not all overseas. You know the OPEC countries pay ALOT less than what we pay here. For an example, my family out in Kuwait says they only pay 1.00 a gallon and it hasn't changed for 20 years supposedly.

The environmental wackos are all to blame for this if you want to get specific. If we could actually build more refineries, and drill for oil we have in the midwest, and put some rigs off the west coast we'd be back down to $0.94 a gallon.

Not to mention all of these "enviro-friendly" doo-dads car company's keep having to add to the engines is making it ever harder to produce engines that don't suck down gas.

My biology teacher pointed out something I found interesting. We haven't built a refinery for some time now if I'm not mistaken. The thing is we're sending all the supplies needed to build one to China

We don't need anymore refineries. Fosil fuels won't last forever. Its time to look for alternate means to fuel our cars, homes and businesses. And one country has already found another source of fuel that rivals oil. That country is Brazil and they are on the right track.
