2002 Galant Aftermarket Stereo

I am not sure how to run the power wire through the car to the trunk. I can't get the door sills off to hide the wire and cant find a good hole in the fire wall to hold 4 gauge wire. Also hows about a good place to attach street glow to the underside? Anyone with ideas post please.

Re: 2002 Galant Aftermarket Stereo

the only thing i might be able to help w/ is ur underglow.

and that is only since our frames are the same

mine looks really good w/ the front being tucked in the bumper. you are really only supposed to see the "glow" from a kit, so just inside the lip of the bumper and then zip tie it to the lower bumper attachment areas

the sides, were more difficult, you'll have to drill into a what looks like a small rail on the under side of the car. the bulbs will almost be touching the car. put the bulbs on the inside so that they are not seen so you can get the glow effect.

the rear you should be able to do the same as the front, tuck it in the bumper a little bit so you can't see it. then zip tie as much of it as you can to anything you can find, i didn't find much to zip tie to, so i cant' imagine you'll do much better.

Keep the wires away from heat and moving objects. ie, muffler and axles. use zip ties excessively, it is better to be TOO tied down than not enough, I used electrical tape for most of the connections not under the hood. you should use the heat wrap supplied for all connections anywhere near heat.

I ran wires from underneath the radiator and tried to follow other wires, simply electrical taping them to those wires, following them up beside the radiator, up along the top, found a hole just past the wheel and dropped them through. Here is an example on my car. the transformer is next to the headlight w/ the red and black wires running from it.

Try mounting the transformer close to the headlight since the battery is right there, and that is where you need to start the first bulb anyways. You can run the main power wires through the firewal just behind the driver side front wheel if you want, there should be a small hole from the engine compartment to the fender area, then you'll need to take the fender lining off and push it through that hole where alll the rest of the wires run.

i used eurolite, which i'm not sure is still being made. all neon kits, should be roughly the same though

Re: 2002 Galant Aftermarket Stereo

Since i dont have a manual, I drilled a hole through the insert where the clutch would go through the firewall. But thanks anyways. One question though, was your underside covered in black crap like insulation or something?
