olds 445 question

Hey. Im new here. i have a question. im gonna restore a car here pretty soon. i am getting a 445 big block from a 1971 olds ninety-eight. i was wondering if there were any other GM's that cam with that motor. i want to do a complete restoration. I do not understand what you are asking for here.
Are you asking what other GM cars will accept that engine?

If yes, many many GM cars will do. What are your goals?.

As far as I know, the 455 in your car was unique to Olds. Other GM brands of that year may also have offered a 455, but, the engines are different. Your engine family started life as a 400, then it was upped to 425 cid, and finally to 455. This was Oldsmobiles biggest "Rocket" engine,and, was actually made by Oldsmobile. In those days, each GM division generally made their own V-8s, and, blocks, heads, manifolds, and engine internals were all different. Similarly, the Olds Rocket 330, 350, 403 cid series had nothing in common with the other GM brand V-8s, and, were the last real Olds engines to go out of production. I believe some of the last 403 Olds engines were used for a short period of time in a few Pontiacs (Trans-ams). My parents had a 1970 Olds Toronado GT with a high output 455 in it. This heavy FWD beast had great take-off, but topped out at 112 Mph, and, only got 12 Mpg on premium leaded gas if you babied it. There's a lot of info available on the internet about the Olds V-8's.
