'92 Jetta's

I was wondering about these cars and what your opinion is on them.I have a chance to buy one with 209,000 kms on it.
What are the things i should look for?
Has anyone had problems with the gas engine?
Thanks
Trev

Re: '92 Jetta's

I rebuilt a 91 and it's essentially the same car. Problems: Master brake cylinder, oil sending units (sensor- costs < $5), Idle stabilizer valve (clean it with carb cleaner), Doesn't survive T-bone by tractor trailer well (reason for rebuilding). It is a very well designed car. The ones made in Germany (pre 91) are best.

I forgot to list this, The car has two fuel pumps. They last about 130,000 miles which is typical. There are two to replace though when they do fail.
