Re: 00 civic low idle

Adjust your idle screw, its right on the throttle body close to the throttle opening. http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=195 <-- has a pretty good pic of where its at

Re: 00 civic low idle

i had a new engine replacement done about 9 months ago, and my idle was dropping low. so i got worried, my mechanic said try cleaning the air intake. I sprayed some cleaner in started it up, it coughed choked for like 3 seconds now it idles perfectly.

The MIL (check engine light) is on. It have any code.

As the other reply says, clean it with a "throttle cleaner spray". Remove the IACV (idle valve) and clean it, sometimes this valve have dirt and carbon on it. Check the gaskets and/or o-rings

As I understand, is the PCV have leakage the RPM's goes up.
