Gas gauge
Does anyone trust these? lol
I dont know if Im getting bad gas mileage, or Im just filling up before I really have to. When Im driving it will be damn near E, but when I come to a stop, it goes up to like a quarter tank. Which reading should I trust more? And I have yet to see my gas light come on when Im low on fuel, so I dont know if it might not be working, or if I just havent reached that point yet because I keep thinking Im about to run out of gas, and I fill up. |

Re: Gas gauge
Measure the amount of fuel you have to put in to fill it. That's easy, since the pump actually does that for you. Record the mileage you log between filling. Divide the miles you've driven by the amount of fuel used to fill it. That's easy enough, and it doesn't matter how long you wait between fillups. If the number is less than "15" you may have a problem.

Re: Gas gauge
Moreover, the gauge calibration is not linear. When it reads "1/2" you are well below 1/2 a full tank.
