How/where do I check the transmission fluid in my manual 1997 Toyota Celica?

If it is anything like my 90 model... 5sfe 2.2l There will be a bolt that is pretty big about 2-4 inches from the bottom of the transmission. You just unscrew it and stick your finger in. If you can feel fluid when you move your finger around its good, If you cant feel anything your low... If it overflows out you have to much just let it come out until it stops.

Thats a VERY ruff description but its been 2 months since iv looked under mine. Hope that gives you an idea.

theres 2 bolts on the bottem, one facing stright down to the ground, one facing the bumper, take the one out thats facing the bumper and fill it wit h fluid untill it starts coming back out, let it leak out untill it stops and put the bolt back on
