Angry non starting ROVER

Hi there
Please please help 1997 Rover 400GSI turn ignition key nothing happens no clicking or anything tried jumping it off still nothing. Headights dim dash lights dim.
Clicking from sensor on hose from air filter near throttle cable when ignition key removed and car locked

Got RAC to it needed a new battery
