Unhappy Back doors wont unlock

I posted this question in a different area on this site then realized I might get a response in the proper spot. An '89 88, The power is getting to the back doors,the sliders move but no unlock. Any ideas? Thanx

it is probably one of the following......

1. the plastic retaining clips broke or moved

2. the lock rod fell out

3. the motors are seizing

Did they both quit at once? If so, then I would suspect an electrical problem. Otherwise, go with skskid.

Edit: Since your sliders move then You'll more then likely have to remove the door panels and manually disengage the locks. They could just have locked up from lack of lubrication and would probably work if you lubed them up good and slick.

You'll need to take the door panels off (I know, a PITA when the doors are shut) and examine your problem visually. Removing the back seat (push back and up on lower portion, 18mm bolts and lift up on upper portion) would probably help to get the panels off, though wresting through to the front doors may be interesting...
