1993 GPSE a/c problems

Hello everyone.

Just recently my a/c stoped working. So I popped the hood with the a/c on from in the cabin. The compressor never kicked in. It is still running r-12. Once she is up and running, I am converting it to r-134a. The first troubleshooting that I did was to check the senor by the accumulator on the low pressure side. I put a jumper to try and engage the compressor. My radiator fan kicked on as it normally would but my compressor never engaged. Is my clutch bad? What are some other areas to troubleshoot to pin point the problem so as I don't waist time or start throwing parts at it.

I am not a wealthy person and always do all maintanence on my car. I am trying to keep this in my garage and out of the shop. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Jon S.

when you jumper the low side sensor, do you get power at the compressor clutch plug? If not, the relay may be bad.

Thanks for the response. I don't have my voltmeter on me at the moment. How much is the relay by the way?
