I did a piston soak

I did a piston soak with MMO and my 99 Neon Sort quit smoking and gained all kinds of power. Will drive it alil longer to see if it helped oil consumption. I have heard of doing this to Saturns for bad oil consumption and it would help, So I tried it on my Neon and it did help! It has alot more power now.

Seafoam does the same thing and people swear by it. I have yet to try it though!

I will try to find the link where I first learned about hte MMO soak
and here it is, http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...MO+piston+soak
it is on another forum with a difeerent vehicle, but it is the same procedure. and it has help 2 of my over 100,000 mile vehicles, one with close to 300,000. It didn't stop the oil burning on the 200 plus, but it did make it run smother and Seafoam will do the same from what I have heard. i buy the MMO from Dollar general for $2.00 a quart, but other stores carry it for about the same price as Seafoam here is close to $5.00

Ah, gotcha. I know some people that used to mix it with their gas, but I didn't know that stuff was that reliable. Hmm.

To do the piston soak with MMO, do you have to disassemble anything? With Seafoam, you use the brake booster vacuum line to get into the engine.

With my S 10 i poured it down the carb. On the Neon I removed spark plugs and poured it in the hole. You can remove a vacumn line that will pull it into the piston/Gas chamber also. You can pour it through the throttle body if you use a funnel and hose and let it be sucked in that way also. You can do a search from the link I provided for MMO piston soak and find alot of information also. That is where I got most of mine.
