What to do

ok so now that my car is finally driveable, I want more speed haha. the 16g is making the cut but I'm in need of a 190 to complete my fuel system. I want to be able to have all the supporting mods to the point where A. I have everything I need to upgrade turbos and/or B. enough power to safely max out the bottom end(still daily driven so not to much stress). What do you think I will need to at least max out the s16g? And I'm thinking cams are the next thing I need to look to, any input on this?

Re: What to do

Cams will be a huge step toward maxing out that turbo. An extra 3-4 lbs/min without raising boost is never a bad thing You should be able to max it out at 25 psi falling to 20 by redline (race gas naturally, to be safe).

Re: What to do

If you plan on upgrading the turbo later on, go with a 255lph pump right now, just save up another $200 and get a FPR. You could complete your fuel setup for less than $300 right now and you will easily be able to max out the 16g on race gas.

The pump is where I had problems when I was running the 16g. I bought cams and told myself I could upgrade the pump later. I should have done both at the same time cause the pump is what hurt me. Running out of fuel sucks whether you have cams or not.

Re: What to do

Cams push you even closer to running out of pump, since fuel flow has to match airflow (not boost). But as a nice side effect, moving more air at lower boost makes the pump "appear" to be a little bigger than it would be for someone running the same airflow without the cams (at more boost).

You can never have to much fuel system capacity...

Re: What to do

so will the 550s provide enough fuel for the 16g with cams, after a pump of course.

Re: What to do

I'd be skeptical about running them with pump gas and maxing the turbo out, but if you are using race gas, the 550s will be plenty. You should be able to run 20-23psi on the street with pump gas and be just fine. Log it and watch for knock, every car is different.
