97 Civic Cx H/B help question
i have a few problem with my car and see if anyone can help me.
just stalled a y8 tranny/w new clutch and lightweight fly wheel in my y7 hatch and everything looked good, but my tranny won't let me go into gear 1 and 2 smoothly like the other gears. is hard for me to shift to gear 1 and 2, so i have to force the gear in to get in gear 1 and 2. whats causinig this problem? please help thx  will a 8 lb flywheel and a aem pulley kit be a good combo for my ride? will a lightweight flywheel be ok when smoging? will a lightweight flywheel and a aem pulley kit affect smoging? |

Re: 97 Civic Cx H/B help question
nothing done to the tranny will effect smog at all. NOTHING. smog is for the engine. the way it burns gas, how efficient, the fumes that come out of the back pipe. Different gear ratio's won't do a thing to change that. And holy crap, an 8 pound flywheel is insane. I would only go to a 11 at the least so i could keep my drive-ability up. Just SEARCH about flywheels and you will find EVERYTHING you'd want to know about them.
now about that shifting problem....did you change the tranny fluid when you put it in? or better yet... is there fluid in there?
