Actually, yesterday, i saw this bmw 3 series and a Rover lowerd and it wasnt looking so bad. So i think i will lower the car. Also looking to 'wield grind plates' under the car where it is likely to scrape as sujjested by TurboLaxx.

iVteC_PoWeR AND everyone:

OK how about this. you have 4 cars;

1] HONDA - Visually + Performance modded
2] HONDA - Visually modded
3] MUSTANG - Visually + Performance modded
4] MUSTANG - Visually modded

Which one is the 'rice' car?
First, I don't think you understand at all what we have said about rice. all visual mods are not rice, go back and re-read all of our posts.
Which cars are rice, it depends on how they are visually modded. If they all have wild body kits I would personally say all of them, even the ones with performance mods. Performance mods don't cancel out the ugly visual mods.

And am I a ricer too? No, anyone who has seen my car can tell you that it's not rice. The only visual mod on the outside of my car is a paint job. My car is lowered (not done for looks) on stock integra wheels with stock bumpers. I spent my money on other mods, such as a motor swap and other little goodies along those lines.

Re: Serious, Very Serious, Let's Talk About Rice

I'll tell you all what I think about the word ricer...the people who coined the term and hate on "ricers" are just as bad as those cars deserving of the label they make fun of.

Case in point. I don't pretend to have a fast drag car, never taken her to the strip. My car gets shown, plain and simple. 10-15+ times a year, I've driven 8-9+ hours and 300 + miles to shows line HIN, SCN, etc. Still, I didn't just throw parts on like some people. I thought the car out. Now yes I have vinly logo's on the car...those are from legitmite sponsors or companies which have bent over backwards to help me out. They sort of have to be there on the window. No they don't add horsepower, and they are NOT on to be cool. They are on because they needed to be or to give those companies that went out of their way to help me some added exposer at the shows.

Now, some people see this and don't like it. If fact, someone vandalized my car yesterday night while I was stopped for dinner while I was on my way to roll in for a show in chunck of my paint out, a little smaller than 1/2" x 1/2" approx size chunk of paint out while I was parked for dinner at a fast food joint. Right at the front top corner of the door, right down to the very first spec of paint, right down to the primer. I mean, it's like 2 mils deep at least...big and nasty...and definatly done on purpose. Why do I mention this? Becuase I am sure the a-hole who screwed up my nice custom piant job saw my civic and thought vinyl, 18's, body kit, lowered all to heck...dang ricer...let's have some fun. Great...last year I placed first at HIN seattle, this year I have top re-paint my door cuz some jerk couldn't understand this was a SHOW car. Just because I sport a logo don't mean I'm rice. No logo, no sponsorship...tough world I guess...so sport a few I do. Now I gotta drop $$ to fix my car before SCN in Canada in 2 months, all because some jerk. Point being...jerks like that person are just as bad as the worst "ricers" out their.

So as I said...whatever you THINK ricer means, those who "screw" with ricers like that are just as bad as the "ricers" they are trying to mess with.

Re: Serious, Very Serious, Let's Talk About Rice

I feel like this. If people want to put a bunch of "crazy" stuff on their cars then that's up to them. Everyone has their own opinion on what is "rice" and what's not. I see cars with spinning hubcaps, flame stickers all over, fake cell phone antennas, 7 inch exhaust tips, aluminum wings 5 feet tall, etc all the time. What may be ridiculous and "rice" to me may be cool or just an expression of the person with the car. I have had "ricey" things on my car in the past. I don't degrade others' rides for what they have on them. I may think it's funny and laugh, but it's their perogative and should not be judged. Some like a lot of crap on their cars, some like a clean look. Some want wild body kits and some want JDM. It's all in what people like. Now the ones who cut off their exhaust and screw on a tip, put on a home-made intake, big azz jet wing and a pie-plate sized tach on the dash and revving up at every car at the stop light is a different story!

Brought back from the dead after 1 month....sigh....

As I said above, it's an attitude, it doesn't matter what type of car you drive or how nice it is...you put chrome spinning hubcaps and some chrome tails on your car and you think your bada** all of a sudden, you go revving on people...well....like I said, it's an attitude.

Who in the world would ever think that putting vinyls on their cars will make it go fast? The only people known to do that are Red Necks not ricer, just watch "The Fast and The Furious." They still use a bunch of ricer cars, and their cars have a bunch of vinyls on it for no reason. Watch more ricer movie (BMI) and you'll know that we don't like a lot of VINYLS. (ONLY TO ADVERTISE PRODUCT).

Jeez fircken man...Let this fricken thread die people...

As I said in my first post, not everyone puts vinyl emblems from manufacturs on there car to be cool and go fast. True, we don't like them but some of us have to. I HAVE to have the ones on my car when I put them on. It's the price you pay for being sponsored...others where put on there as a thanks to companies that took care of me and when above and beyond to help me out.

Yes, many people DO put vinyls on to be cool or "look fast." But IU hate this "all vinyls are rice" crap. When you see www.decah.net, dynamat or phoenix gold on my car at a show, it's because it needed to be there. Sure, I've left some on after the sponsor contract was filled, but thats because until a new company or person needs the spot, I perfer to show my apperication to the companies that showed faith in me and helped me get there.

True, many people put vinyls on for reasons we find dumb, but I hate this generalized "all ppl put them on cuz" or "the only ppl who put them on cuz" crap. It's jerks like that that f*ck with a car like mine when I park for dinner on the way to a show. Dang, I'm driving 200+ miles sometimes, so I spot to eat. Leave my fircken car alone, the logos are on the windows for a PURPOSE in my case...and they need to be for the shows. When you signa contract with decah agreeing to sponsorship, for example, you gotta put it on. Hose techinques, same thing. No logo...no deal...simple.

So buzz off when you say "only to advertise product" or "only rednecks." Some ppl do it cuz they are iditos, other cuz it's a f*ckin sponsorship...you signed a contract...a legel binding contract. Put of that contract IS you advetsie product. Thats what a spnosrhsip is...the are providing you with disconted or free product so you will provide them with advertising on the track, the street shows, etc. If you don't wanna "advertise", the don't get the sponsorship, cuz if youwant those free doors, for example, you're gonna have to rock the logo or website on your windshield. Say you will butdon't do it? You're stuck paying full for the product best case, you have a legel contract stating so..and you just trashed your name to future sponsors. They arn't a redneck, they gotta have it.

Take that movie we hate...you think then got free crap from greddy, etc for the cars with nothing in return? Heck no, these companies shell out easy 10K plus to equip a car with there parts. You think Greddy, Apexi, autometer, apc, etc want to give universal free stuff and get no advetising? Heck no, they want some advertising in return for the free stuff, so on the cars the logos go in tne movie. No logo..they end up paying 50K plus for all that crap. It doesn't make fiscal sense. Look on the doors and windows, and thats why it's there.

It's the same with sponsorships for you and me. You want that partial or full sponsorship from Phoenix Gold or Decah, you gotta attend an agreed to nuymber of shows, and fufill a set amount or agreed to cirtira, and rock their logo or website (whichever THEY choose) on your car in the spot they want in the size they want. You don't like that...no free doors or stereo equip for you, you can pay $1000-1200 instead. That adds up after awhile, and to some, it's worth the trade off, because they can get more bang for their buck product-wise.

True, there are ppl that advertise to "be cool" and crap when they don't show or race and don't have to. But stop with the "all people who do it for that reason are rices crap. some of us HAVE to, and I'd rather raock that website on my shield than pay $2000 for that crap. That windsheild banner aloows me to put that money into something else. You don't like it? Then your as can give me $2000 to spend on that crap so I don't have to agree to terms of a sponsorship to get it. Money doesn't grow on trees, sometimes it's give and take building a show car.

Now enough of this ignorance.
