'98 Cavalier RS Coupe vs. '99 Civic DX

Hello all,

I realize that there may be some bias posting this in a Cavalier forum, but a friend's '99 Civic DX hatchback got into some trouble recently (~$3.5K worth of only cosmetic damage - rear-ended someone). It was also due for a 35,000 mile servicing (~$600+ at the dealer). In it's current condition, he figures he can fetch about $800 for the car as is.

Taking all that into account, he is seriously considering just selling the Honda as is and going for something else. There's currently a '98 Cavalier RS Coupe with 79,000 miles, new brakes + tires + oil change + tune-up, perfect exterior, tinted windows, single CD player and clean history for ~$2700. How do you guys think these two will compare?

Thanks in advance

4k to fix the Civic, or 2700 to get a clean Cavy?

I would go with the Cavy, or look around for another Civic.

depends on what engine the cavaliers got...i dont no cavaliers under 2000 so i dont no what engines they have but if its a 2.4L or 2.2L Eco then go with the cavalier

Re: '98 Cavalier RS Coupe vs. '99 Civic DX

yeah good luck finding one of those lol, and if you do find one dont look at the price tag unless you wanna bend over and take a look at broke back mountain. (then again if you make the trailer trash guy drunk and screw his girlfriend good enough then she may let you take it off the cinder blocks HAHA!) j/k yeah that would be cool though... I mean about finding one not the redneck.
