Quick CPS question
Does the CPS for the 1996 JGC 4.0 I6 have a 2 bolt mount or 1 bolt mount. I know it pobably depends on the tranny, but I'm not sure of hand which I have.
If I do have a 2 bolt mount need, could the mechanic have put a 1 bolt mount on by mistake and could it "work" intermittently and give me problems but not throw a code??? I'm just getting random misfires from time to time and the CPS seems to be the common denominator at this point. I have inlcuded links for both types from the rockauto website. I will probably go with the apa Echlin brand though if I change it. I'm just trying to diagnose this crap a little more before I dive into it. 2 bolt: http://198.208.187.182/internet/Part...rtnbr=213-2068 1 bolt: http://www.rockauto.com/ref/SMP/SMPD....html?PC42.jpg Thanks for the help. Re: Quick CPS question
Probably 2 bolt sensor. If you look from underneath you can see if it is 1 or 2 bolt Dale

Re: Quick CPS question
If I want to eventually replace it myself, do you think I can get to it without lifting the Jeep? This is clearly a really tough thing to do. Have you repaleced one and if so, what size socket and extensions did you need?

Re: Quick CPS question
I always change from underneath. I use a 1/4 inch socket set with long extensions, wobble extenion is nice too. On most the bolts are 11mm metric. Have seen some with 7/16 heads . The electrial connecton is on pass. side right by oil dipstick. questions holler
