See if you can hit or touch or push the door lock button with the slim jim or coat hanger or stiff wire bent around in different directions.
To use the slim jim you will need to read the instructions that comes with them for that model and year.

Re: locked out of 01 blazer

i agree, try hitting the door lock button first if you've never used a slim jim cause i know alot of people that have messed up the locks w/ improper use of a slim jim.

If you have OnStar you can call in and have them unlock it for you...
Also you should have been given a courtesy key by GM when you
purchased your truck, call 1-800-CHEV USA.
The key just opens the truck..

I've heard of people using a long stick or metal rod to push the hatch button on the dash.

Re: locked out of 01 blazer

Slim jim are dangerous in untrained hands.
We really do not have any proof you are the legal owner.
Contact your local police/fire department a lot of them will help you unlock your auto.
But be prepared to furnish proof of ownership.
Or your local parts place may have a unlock tool.

Re: locked out of 01 blazer

Just call a locksmith, I hade a mistake with an Infinity at work (found out that the car lockes the doors when you install a new battery) and the pro only charged $25.00 Canadian.
I can't see a Blazer being anywhere as tough as an Infinity.

Re: locked out of 01 blazer

The lock mech is plastic so be careful cause a pain to change - so to see down into the door pull that lower door/window strip up and off from the door where the window meets - it pops right back on and you should be able to see the metal rod. Again, if you give the dealer your VIN # and prove you own it they can cut you a new key as long as the original door lock.

Re: locked out of 01 blazer

The way I look at it he'll either pay $25 - 50 in to get it opened the proper way or spend that much or more in parts to fix it afterwords + a lot of time.
