PCV Valve Location
So I'm doing some tune ups and want to replace my PCV Valve...but I'm not sure where it's at. I have a Chilton repair manual...but my engine doesn't look like the pictures in the book. I have a 99 with a 4.3L Vortec V6. I've included a couple pics of my engine compartment if someone could help me point it out.
is it what's at the end of this hose? If So...how do I go about replacing it? Thanks for your help. |

Re: PCV Valve Location
The PCV Valve is located on the other valve cover on the drivers side part of the engine bay....... it located at the end of a tube just like the one you circled....... although it is tucked away below the air intake tube........ disconnect the air intake tube from the tb and you should see it........ as for replacing it simply disconnect the hose and pull the PCV out with some plyers....... when you install the new one just push it in and connect everything back up and your done.

Re: PCV Valve Location
You don't have to disconnect the tube it is clearly visible without doing so. It is at the end of a piece of hose that I would say is about 8 inches long. If you pull it out and shake it, and it rattles, it is fine, there is no need to replace it.

Re: PCV Valve Location
Thanks everybody...all set...I was a bit suprised on how easy the new one went in and such.
Now if only my fuel filter would be so easy. Can't get the damn fuel line unscrewed from it. |
