02' Installing After Market Radio
I'm having trouble installing an after-market radio. There are two connectors into the back of the radio, a 9 pin and about a 15 pin. I have the standard CD radio with connected tape player, rear-seat controls and OnStar.
I don't care about OnStar, the tape deck or controls. I hooked up the main connector according to the diagram and have power, but no audio. Do I have to do something with that other plug? I was guessing it was the aux-control plug for tape deck and rear listning. Thansk! |

Re: 02' Installing After Market Radio
I had the same problem with my Alpine radio. I was told sometimes this happens when your aftermarket radio is amplified. This causes conflict with the GM factory amp. There should be a switch or selection your aftermarket radio to bypass the internal amplifier.
Not sure if this is your issue, but it was mine when I had the same symptoms Fred |

Re: 02' Installing After Market Radio
You have to bypass the factory amplifier. There are jumper kits that you can get that will plug the input/outputs together at the factory amp to bypass it. There is no audio because your aftermarket radio is amplified and you cannot run an amplified signal into a factory amplifier. Hope this helps.
